  1. This book is an introductory course on designing for desktop
  2. publishing. The course was originally a series of messages to all on
  3. the City2City network in the DTP conference of which I am the
  4. conference host. It was also uploaded to the NAnet DTP conference
  5. hosted by Mr. John Kerr.
  6. The purpose of this course was to give good solid basics for those new
  7. to DTP in order to improve their quality of output.

  9. The format of this book is in a program called READBOOK.
  10. This is a shareware program for writing books and reading them using
  11. your computer. If you find this program to be of use, the opening
  12. screen tells you how to register it so you can make your own books.
  13. Please support shareware authors by registering their software.

  15. To run this book, just enter "READBOOK" from the DOS prompt inside the
  16. directory where you have unzipped these files. Then choose DESIGN.TOC
